Ripples Salon in Los Cristianos is the place to go for hair, beauty or nail treatments. Run by Shane and Beverley Taylor, the salon is tucked in at the side of Crisitian Sur, right next to The Fisherman´s Inn, a nice little pub where you can park your other half while you get pampered. 

Six months after joining Mahogany, an exclusive chain with three salons in Oxford and one in Mayfair, London, Shane won the annual inter-salon competition. He was still a trainee at the time and was delighted to be the first ever trainee to win the Mahogany award.

Having had Shane colour and cut my own thin and mousey locks, I can honestly say he does a fabulous job of both.  

Though he looks a bit serious in the photo, don´t be fooled by that. Shane is friendly and chatty but watch out for the occasional wisecrack as his dry sense of humour slips in from time to time.

Beverley is an experienced beauty therapist and nail technician. She is artistic by nature so you can be sure that you will leave the salon with fabulous nail art. Bev also does facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures and St. Tropez tanning.

By appointment, you can organise reiki, massage or chiropody treatment at Ripples and the salon has a solarium sunbed so you can choose to tan safely even here in Tenerife.

As I had heard good things about Ripples from an expat friend, I decided to book my mother in for a birthday nail treatment from Beverley. The biggest surprise was that I managed to keep the secret right up until we walked into the salon. Mum still thought I was lost and asking for directions. She was delighted when Bev and Shane magically produced a bottle of champers and we all sang happy birthday.

My Mum and I enjoyed our afternoon at Ripples so much that we organised another girlie day when a friend was in town. Three facial massages, two pedicures, two haircuts and an eyelash tint later, we left Ripples feeling very pleased with ourselves.
