Though considerably quieter than Los Cristianos and Las Americas, Costa del Silencio and neighbouring Las Galletas offer a wide variety of restaurants. At Giunduia, pizza lovers can enjoy delicious thin crust pizza while watching the locals have their evening stroll along the waterfront of Las Galletas or try Bom Appetit in the middle of the village who willingly make a calzone out of anything. If you particularly like smelly cheese then you´ll love their Quattro Formaggi pizza though for me I find the blue cheese overwhelms all the others so I ask them to go easy with it.

For fine dining, Tijl, at Tre Bol in Costa del Silencio simply can't be beat. It has recently changed hands but it used to be reservations only and a limited choice of three or so fabulous main courses. Though I haven't been since it changed hands, I hear the new owners are doing an excellent job.

Another fine dining option is Flamingo (though the decor is a bit too pink - like eating in the middle of a big wodge of candy floss). Still, my petty nit-picking aside, it has a fine menu and a very loyal clientele.

A bargain meal for the family can be had at the Chinese restaurant on the side of Chapperal. At €6 per head for a large buffet, really you would be nit-picking if you were to suggest that the dishes were as authentically Chinese as my Aunt Fanny.

Globetrotters, up the side street opposite Chapperal, does regular mussel and seafood nights.

In Coral Mar, you'll get a steaming plate of delicious steak pie and chips, bangers and mash or one of a few choices of good British grub at Stella´s. Stella is also providing the food at the downstairs bar the Euro - which is just as well because the food at Tommy Todgers, your other dining option down there, is horrible.

Also at Coral Mar, Brooks do good British food, not fancy but tasty and satisfying all the same.
