Every year more and more people are buying property in Tenerife, both as a place to live and as an investment. The market is booming here at the moment. All over the island, there are apartments, bungalows, country estates and independent villas available for sale or for rent. Some of the most popular investment areas on Tenerife are; Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Callao Salvaje, Costa Del Silencio, Fanabe, Golf del Sur, Palm Mar and Torvicas.

Why Tenerife?

It’s got everything - perfect climate (all year round), superb beaches, fine restaurants, shopping malls, theme parks, a fascinating landscape, water sports and great nightlife.

It also has two airports (with regular national and international flights), top class medical facilities and an excellent schooling system. It’s an ideal place to live or invest.

Schools in Tenerife

Two of the best are the EEC (English Educational Centre) and Wingate.

The EEC (for both residents and visitors) is a long established school that blends experience, fine teachers and modern methods…it provides an English Curriculum to children from 3 to 12 years of age.

Wingate School provides secondary education. It’s quite small by UK standards but offers many activities, like computer clubs, dance clubs and summer school activities. It also has an excellent drama department that has produced some memorable performances.

Before you begin your property search, consider the following…

The sunniest part of Tenerife is between Los Cristianos and Callao Salvaje.

The windiest places are between Candelaria and Golf del Sur.

The north of Tenerife is wetter, greener, cooler - more tranquil. The South is drier, sunnier, warmer - livelier.

If you want peace and tranquillity choose an area about 500-1000m back from coastline.

For all daylong sunshine, you need a south-facing terrace.

The higher you are the colder it gets, so choose a place below 1000 m for warmest winters.

The best views are normally from the top of hills, not on the seafront.

Community fees - a higher priced property may work out cheaper over 5-year period.

If you want peace and tranquillity, don’t buy beside a Club 18-30 complex.
