As well as traditional French-Mediterranean cuisine, the award winning La Estancia restaurant, which is about three minutes from Los Cristianos, regularly hosts Moroccan, French and Bastille Day theme nights.

My partner and I went along to La Estancia to experience their Moroccan theme night. While I enjoyed the food, Nino, who is French, of Moroccan descent was in seventh heaven. I don't think we tasted one plate that didn't remind him in one way or another of his mama's cooking and the huge family feasts he enjoyed growing up. Live music and Moroccan dancers made the evening extra special.

The restaurant's regular gourmet menu includes wood-fired barbeque, exotic meats, fresh fish and a duck liver pate to die for. The wine list is extensive, though we opted to try the house wine to accompany our Moroccan meal and it was most acceptable.
