Once upon a time a small fishing village Santa Cruz de Tenerife came into its own as one of the most important ports in the Atlantic after a volcano eruption decimated the port of Garachico in 1706.

Today this cosmopolitan and bustling town is the centre of government for Tenerife and co-capital of the Canary Islands along with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Santa Cruz is known for its shopping bargains and it's nightlife as well as being the centre stage for the spectacular Carnaval de Santa Cruz (do book your accommodations early for Carnaval 2008!)

Hotel Nautico

Located in the residencial Anaga district not far from the Jetfoil and nautical club, The Hotel Náutico offers modern but basic facilities in a fairly central location.

The Plaza Hotel is in the heart of the Santa Cruz centre, in the middle of the Plaza de la Candelaria, only a few metres from the Plaza de España and close to the city's most important shopping precinct. There is a car park approximately 100 metres from the complex.
