Buying Tenerife Travel Bargains Without Getting Burnt!
So, What's This All About?
Did you know you can find holiday accommodation and cheap flights to Tenerife on eBay? I didn't. Not until recently.
I have a cousin who I have to say is a bit of an ebay eccentric. To be honest I just thought she was a bit of a nutter until she sent me a box of brand new clothes for my kids here in Tenerife. I was amazed at the price she got the things for and that started me looking at the whole ebay system with a little more interest.
Of course, being located in Tenerife, eBay.es is the default site and as I was interested in some English books, I wasn't likely to find many of them there. On the other hand, buying from ebay UK if you live in Tenerife is not such a bargain either. You have all that postage to pay on top. I was a bit disappointed at first until I noticed that there were a bunch of Tenerife related bargains on ebay uk and a lot of them would be relevant to the visitors of my Tenerife Information website, etenerife.com
So, thanks to my eccentric cousin and just as an alternative to the standard hotel and self-catering accommodation that is listed on eTenerife, here are the Tenerife travel bargains that you can find listed on ebay UK today.
Unless you are already an ebay addict, you might be surprised at just how many bargains are available on the internet. From wedding rings to holidays for ten in a luxury villa. I even know a Tenerife bar that was bought on eBay.
Not surprisingly, many people are cautious of throwing their hard earned holiday money at strangers on the internet but there are ways to ensure that the seller is legit.
First of all consider how some of these Tenerife holiday bargains are even possible at such prices. Some of the sellers have obvious motives. For example a luxury flat for six for a week in a luxury time share complex for the unbelievable price of just £150 is not only possible, it is quite common. There is a fly in the ointment though. Part of the deal is that you have to be prepared to attend a breakfast or lunch meeting where no doubt you will be given the hard sell to buy a timeshare apartment.
In other cases, airline tickets are available at rock bottom prices. These are generally bought in advance and now that the time to travel is coming near, something has come up and the tickets need to get unloaded fast.
Possibly too, a private villa owner who only uses his property once or twice a year is offering a discounted holiday. Better that than have his luxury villa lie empty for half the year.
Each item for sale whether it is holiday accommodation or flights or car hire should have a full and detailed description. If as in the case above with the timeshare listings, that incredible offer has strings attached, they will be outlined in the description and you can judge for yourself whether the cheap holiday is worth the hassle of fending off pushy sales pitches.
Each seller on eBay is rated according to how many transactions they have made and how happy or satisfied the buyers have been. You'll find the ratings at the top right of the item listing. In the picture on the right, you can see that the seller has made 124 transactions with a feedback score of 98.4%.
I wouldn't recommend buying from anyone who had a low feedback percentage and would definitely recommend seeking out experienced sellers when looking to score your Tenerife holiday bargain.
Also use your common sense. Though I have seen some great travel deals on ebay, there are occasional listings obviously posted by some chancer who thinks that he'll get money for old rope as long as it is for sale on ebay. Would you pay for the privilege of 'viewing' a villa, with no accommodation or flights included? No, me neither.

People seem to fall into two categories. Those who boast how much things cost and those who boast how little they had to pay for a true bargain. Maybe its because I am Scottish, but I love a bargain. I think you will find that if you use common sense in assessing the sellers and the items for sale you will find all sorts of goodies by following the Holiday Bargains links to the left there.
