Tenerife Courses - Campo de Golf Las Americas

Think of Playa de las Americas and you think of loud late bars and dance clubs, but like Tenerife itself, the area has many contrasts and surprises, one of the best being one of the most serene and attractive golf courses on the island.

Campo de Golf Las Americas is set a few minutes walk away from the sea front and the vibrant nightlife, the 6,039 metre course is like an oasis of nature with lush greenery, streams and waterfalls. When it was built in 1998, it was crafted into a natural amphitheatre with trees and shrubs acting as a screen from noise and bright lights. The mountains in the background help to complete the picture and make this course a pleasure to play on.

In 2004 the Spanish Ladies Open came to the course and the setting and course layout ensured a close exciting competition. The large 3 floor colonial style clubhouse makes an impressive centerpiece and also houses changing rooms, a bar restaurant and for that special meal a bigger and very ornate restaurant.

The sea and the mountains are constant viewing companions as you enjoy the gentle slope of the course. The golf school or pro golf shop will see you feeling and looking confident but if you do need more practice, take advantage of the chipping and putting greens or the driving range.

The whole area is full of surprises as a short walk away, the main bus station rubs shoulders with the Magma Art and Congress centre, equally at home hosting classical concerts or exhibitions. Just behind the new family attraction Siam Park is nearing completion. A good area to invest in property, looking down on this cultural retreat is Residencial Caldera del Rey luxury villas, apartments and penthouses with large terraces and gardens.

Or a little higher up the hill, the views just keep improving at Mirador del Sur with it’s open plan living and dining or the stylish Roque del Conde villas with imposing ballestrades set against the rugged mountain.

Back down below, the advantages of living around a golf course are clear to see with guaranteed views and a buffer zone from any encroachment and noise. Golf Las Americas continues to increase it’s reputation as the most convenient and versatile of the courses on the island.
