Tenerife has a staggering selection of holiday accommodation.
For the independant family booking into a self-catering
holiday apartment in Los Cristianos or Las
Americas would be ideal. In most cases you have all the comforts
and amenities of a first class hotel but are not tied to specific mealtimes.
Those who have no inclination to be grocery shopping, cooking or washing
their own dishes will be happy to know that Tenerife has a very wide
choice of hotels from homely 2 and 3 stars to fabulous world class five
star deluxe. Considering the quality of the latter, you will be happily
surprised at hotel rates here.
Look at the descriptions of the Hotel
Sir Anthony (5 star) in Las Americas and the Hotel
Colon Guaranhani (4 star) in Faņabe for example.
You can also use the box here to search according to dates to see
which hotels and aparthotels have availibility for your preferred
dates and to compare prices. (Prices quoted are all-inclusive
- no hidden charges!)
Tenerife is a fantastic destination for all kinds of watersports, diving and
windsurfing. If you are on holiday with children there are many themeparks
from the most famous which is Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz though
personally I prefer the Eagle Park (Aguilas Park) near Los Cristianos.
A new venture from the Loro Parque group is Siam Park
which is slated to open in December 07. It will be Europes biggest
water park and hopefully will price itself more reasonably than the
outrageously overpriced Aguapark.
The sadly demised Skypark looks like it is gone for
good and word has it that the location will one day be a train station!
Don't hold your breath on that one though because as yet Tenerife
has no trains.
Scuba-diving,
Bob-diving, quad-biking, rock-climbing,
camel riding, horse riding ... you may not have enough time to fit
it all into one holiday.
For those who like a more leisurely holiday, all the
hotels and most self-catering complexes have pools to lounge around.
Many of the villas actually have their own private pools and considering
that many of the privately owned holiday
villas in Tenerife sleep 6 or more you will be pleasantly
surprised at the fantastic rates on offer.
There are beaches galore though many are natural pebble
or silky, black volcanic sand.
You can arrange a walking tour of Santa Cruz or a visit
to Tenerife's mysterious pyramids at Guimar.
Well by this time you've probably heard or read all the
usual tourist office stuff: the fabulous year-round temperatures, the
ecological diversity, the wealth of family friendly attractions, the
choice of accommodation, variety of restaurants, etc.
It's all true. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway
with your one-and-only in a private
holiday villa, a golfing
break with the boys, a family holiday with kids in
tow in Costa
del Silencio or a great blast with a bunch of friends in Las
Americas, Tenerife does have something for everyone.
