Cape Verde may be small, but it’s got a big personality, and
is definitely thinking about the bigger picture when it comes to investment
and Cape Verde property.
So much so that two golf courses are planned, both being designed by
South African world class golfer, Ernie Els which will be certified by
the PGA {Professional Golf Association} therefore suitable for international
competition.
Sal
The island of Sal, is situated in the northern part of Cape Verde,
currently the most popular island, Sal is experiencing a rapid
and continuous
growth especially in the tourist industry and property development.
On these solid foundations ‘the salt island’ will be
the location for Calheta Bay championship golf course.
São Vicente
Also in the north, Baía Golf Resort is being developed. São
Vicente was called ‘the cinder heap’ by the British,
[coal used to be exported to this 227km island] The Cape Verdean
island still
has a certain British feel to it.
Santiago
In addition, currently under construction is Sambala Village, on
the island of Santiago. The hub of Cape Verde, it’s the largest
island within the archipelago 990sq km, and its capital Praia plays
host to
the Cape Verde International Airport.
The new development will comprise of a 36-hole golf resort, luxury hotels,
a marina development, plus villas and apartments available to buy off
plan.
Why Cape Verde?
Cape Verde is an ideal golf destination, a tropical zone where average
temperatures range from 24°C (75°F) in January and February
to 29°C (85°F) in September, which is also the wettest
month.
It’s an excellent geographical position – now within easy
reach from the UK and benefits from warm winters. It’s politically
stable and through its democratic culture intent on developing economically,
into a world class resort. For those who have already been lucky
enough to visit Cape Verde they are already aware of the income-generating
possibilities
of property investment within the archipelago, especially with the
new development of the golf resorts.
