According to online shopping statistics published by 4PS Marketing both Amazon and Marks and Sparks are in the top ten ecommerce sites for the Nov 2009 to Feb 2010 period. Where once, not so long ago, many people worried about the security of their credit cards and about identity theft now buying online is mainstream and there is no denying the convenience of it all.
I know living here in Tenerife, I tend to buy books, kids toys and DVD’s from Amazon and I’ve been paying for various internet services for years via paypal and a virtual account which limits my exposure should any cybercrook get his sticky paws on my data.
With friends and family in the UK it would be horrendously expensive to pay postage every time I want to send a Christmas pressie or birthday gift so I tend to window shop via my pc and order gifts online for delivery in the UK. As well as Marks and Spencer, I have used Argos and Play.com and both of these were also mentioned in the top ten list of ‘etailers’.
For something a bit more fun or even a wee bit cheeky, you can take a look at Rainbow Clothing and Toys. While it is possible you could pick up something there to have delivered to your granny – like say a pair of gloves or a nice roomy shopping bag - you can also pick up gifts for him, for her and choose from a saucy range of lingerie and adult toys.
Of course, if your intention is to buy a little something to spice up your love life there is not much point in having it delivered to the UK if you are living in Tenerife, is there? There is a GBP5.99 delivery charge to Tenerife per order and you can estimate between 2 to 5 days for delivery give or take the usual 3 days for the parcel to exit from the mysterious postal void that things often seem to fall into for a time on their way to Tenerife.
You can enter into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher to spend at Rainbow Clothing and Toys by creating a log-in profile on the website from now until the end of June and anyone who purchases anything at the store in June stands a chance at winning another £50.
